Farewell to Summer Labor Day Cookout
The Labor Day festivities on Bald Head Island get started with a Saturday cookout at Island Passage 14 Maritime Way. Attendees get to enjoy free food and drinks while listening to live music by Dave's Not Home.
There's also no charge to attend, and the event runs from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Bring out the entire family and enjoy what will, weather permitting, be a beautiful day on the island.
Shoals Club Triathlon
Those looking to stay active over Labor Day weekend can take part in this Sunday triathlon at Shoals Club. The event starts at 8 a.m. at the front of the club and consists of a one-mile fun run, one-mile bike ride, and a lap in the pool.
Registration is $10 for temporary members and can be completed on the morning of the competition. Shoals Club members pay no charge.

Bald Head Island Conservancy Turtle Trot
The entire family can get their exercise in on Sunday morning with the Bald Head Island Conservancy Turtle Trot. Move at your own pace during this 5K that gives runners the opportunity to explore the beauty of Bald Head Island.
The price to attend is $50 for adult off-island runners and $40 for children 12 and under. All of the proceeds support the BHI Conservancy's work on the island, specifically their Sea Turtle program.

Maritime Market Oyster Roast
Delicious oysters courtesy of Chef Marc will be front-and-center during this 5 p.m. Sunday celebration at the Maritime Market. There will also be steamed Old Bay shrimp, pulled pork barbecue, roasted chicken, and several sides available.
In addition to delicious food, there will be live music from Mark Daffer and beer and wine offered by the glass. The price of admission is $32.95 for adults and $16.95 for children 11 and under.
Bald Head Island Club Labor Day BBQ
If you want a cookout that is not centered around seafood, then the Bald Head Island Club is also holding a Sunday afternoon barbecue. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and also includes live music from the Crystal Coast Band.

Adult admission is $18 and children three to 11 get in for $12. Reservations are required.
