About Southport
Southport in the southeastern section of North Carolina and is where the Cape Fear River meets the Atlantic Ocean. There are 3.7 square miles of land where over 42 television shows and movies have been filmed. They're known for their beautiful scenery, maritime heritage and their "salubrious" breezes, which means they are favorable to or promoting health or well-being.
Visitors have plenty of historic sites to visit including the Fort Johnston-Southport Museum and Visitors Center, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Old Smithville Burying Ground and the Old Brunswick County jail.
