Event Details
Racial health disparities are evident in cervical cancer due to the high incidence and mortality rates of Black women compared with their White counterparts.
Black women have the second highest incidence rate and the highest mortality rate for cervical cancer and are often diagnosed at later stages.
Recent research has demonstrated that the Black-White difference in mortality is even more extensive than previously thought when correcting for hysterectomies.
The 5-year survival rate for Black women is 56% which is 10% lower than the national average for all stages.
Dress Code: Business Causal
Admission is free, but we are asking attendees to bring donations for the Fayetteville Women's Center (toiletries, diapers, baby wipes, pajamas of all sizes, gift cards or cash).
